Zenskyy confirms a new Ukrainian offensive in the Russian region of Kursk

    KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – The Ukrainian President Volodyymyr Zenskyy confirmed a new Ukrainian offensive in the Kursk region in Russia and said that North Korean troops fought there next to Russian troops there.

    “New attacks have taken place in the areas of the Kursk operation,” said Zenskyyy during his Friday address and added: “Russia has re -used North Korean soldiers next to his troops.”

    According to Zenskyy, a “considerable number of” enemy troops was destroyed. He gave no details, but said the losses were in the hundreds.

    The Russian Ministry of Defense said on Saturday that it had divested a Ukrainian counterattack in the Kursk region.

    Russia said on Friday that his armed forces had conquered the MijnStad Toretsk in their last breakthrough in the Donetsk region in Oost -Ukraine, where Ukrainian defenses crack. Ukrainian officials have not confirmed the report.

    The army of South Korea said last month that it suspected that Noord -Korea was preparing to send extra troops to Russia after the soldiers had suffered heavy victims. North Korea has delivered a huge amount of artillery and other conventional weapons to Russia and last October it also sent around 10,000-12,000 troops, according to the US, South Korean and Ukrainian information.

    In the meantime, one person was killed and on Saturday 10 injured in a Ukrainian strike in the city of Makiivka, a city in the partially occupied Eastern Donetsk region in Ukraine, said civil servants of Moscow.

    The Russian Ministry of Defense also said that 36 Ukrainian drones were shot at night until Saturday in four regions of West and Southwest -Russia. No victims were reported, but Rostov Regional Gov. Yuri Slyusar said that 14 apartment buildings were damaged in the southwestern city of Rostov-on-Don.

    Moscow sent 139 drones at night to Ukraine until Saturday, said Ukrainian officials. According to the Air Force of Ukraine, 67 drones were destroyed and 71 crashed electronically.
