Women who ‘look like a thumb’ shouldn’t complain about abortion rights

unattractive women who “looking like a thumb” shouldn’t complain about losing abortion rights because they have the “least” chance of getting pregnant, Representative Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) said in a breathtaking speech to students at a conservative conference in Florida on Saturday.

“Have you seen these pro-abortion, pro-murder rallies?” Gaetz asked the audience at the Turning Point USA Student Action Summit in Tampa. “The people are just disgusting. Why is it that the women least likely to conceive are the most concerned about abortion?”

The video of the speech has been viewed on Twitter at least a million times.

“Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb. These people are detestable from within,” the congressman continued. “They’re about 5′2″, 350 pounds, and they say, ‘Give me my abortions or I’ll get up and march and protest.'”

“A few of them have to get up and march – they have to get up and march for about an hour a day. Wave those arms, get the blood pumping, maybe mix in a salad.’

    Critics were stunned.

Jezebel tore off the comments as a “cartoonish misogynist.”

Erin Zwiener, a Texan Democratic state representative, was one of many who laughed at the congressman on Twitter: “Gaetz, we don’t care if you think we’re hot. Either way, we deserve to make our own decisions about our future.”

Gaetz’s comments were made at the same summit where, just a day earlier, Senator Ted Cruz took a hard jab at gender pronouns.

Gaetz is currently under federal investigation for alleged sex trafficking and the rape of a 17-year-old girl.
