Women adopt behaviors to prevent leakage and discomfort during their periods

Women admit to avoiding light-colored clothing, subtly checking the seats for leakage after getting up and going to the toilet regularly to check their sanitary pads during their periods. A survey of 1,000 menstruating women found that 81 percent worry about leaking during their periods and 65 percent experience some degree of discomfort. As a result, 86 percent admit to taking significant steps to prevent such menstrual mishaps. Monthly behaviors include avoiding wearing light clothing (61 percent), subtly checking chairs for menstrual leakage when getting up (45 percent), and adjusting daily routine to account for regular toilet breaks to accommodate their to check sanitary towels (39 percent). The research was commissioned by Always to celebrate their FlexProtect range, made with SmartFoam technology that absorbs and adapts to a woman's every movement. A spokesperson for the menstrual protection brand said: “It's clear that women need to adjust their daily routines during their period to avoid leakage and discomfort, and accept this as the norm every month.”
