A woman was admitted to the hospital after the authorities say she was stabbed by a scorpion at Boston International Airport on Sunday evening.
The 40-year-old woman was stabbed while picking up her luggage in the luggage claim area of customs in Terminal E around 7:30 PM, according to the Massachusetts police.
The woman, whose name was not released, was urgently taken to a local hospital. There was no immediate word about her condition.
It was not immediately clear where the Scorpio originated or how it let go at the airport.
Scorpions are often considered desert residents, but they also live in Brazilian forests, British Columbia, North Carolina, and even the Himalaya, noted National Geographic. According to the San Diego Zoo, they can have no fewer than 45 different toxins in their poison.
The incident at Logan remains in research.
