The Madleen ship, launched by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), is on its way to Gaza with humanitarian aid and human rights activists who protest against Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza.
The ship has sailed since 2 March in response to the total auxiliary block of Israel of the Palestinian enclave, which led to the death of dozens of children as a result of hunger. According to AID groups, more than 90 percent of the 2.3 million people of the enclave are confronted with acute food shortages.
The Madleen, named after Gaza's first and only fishermen, left on 1 June Catania, Sicily, only a month after Israeli drones bombarded Conscience, another freedom flying program, off the coast of Malta.
The journey of 2,000 km (1,250 miles) is expected to take seven days, provided that there are no disturbances.

The FFC has emphasized that all volunteers and crew on board Madleen are trained in non -violence and are unarmed in a peaceful act of civil resistance against Israel's actions in Gaza.
What happened to previous flotillas?
