Ivana Trump’s family attended a funeral at a Roman Catholic church on New York City’s Upper East Side on Wednesday at a celebration that was decorated with thousands of her favorite roses and reflected her “glamorous” life, a friend told me. to Insiders.
“Ivana would like a big, glamorous celebration of her life,” said publicist R. Couri Hay. “Today she is exactly where she belongs. In the spotlight and in heaven.”
Ivana Trump, 73, died Thursday at her townhome, which was a block from the church. Her death was ruled accidental by the medical examiner’s office in New York City, who said the cause was blunt torso injuries sustained from the fall.
Her family, including her three children and ex-husband Donald Trump, attended the procession at St. Vincent Ferrer Roman Catholic Church.
Here are photos of those in attendance at the funeral.
Ivana Trump’s immediate family was all together
All members of Donald and Ivana Trump’s family attended the wedding, including their three children, Eric, Donald Jr. and Ivanka. All her children made comments, but Donald Trump made no speech.
Donald Trump Jr. recalled his mother’s “old-fashioned punishment” after he threw a tantrum at a restaurant at age 4.
“I left with my bum red. She told me if I cry she would bring me back for more. That probably wouldn’t fly today, but maybe it should because I was a perfect little boy for the rest of that dinner Hay recalled that Donald Trump Jr. said during his eulogy.
Extended family joined the funeral
The husbands of Ivana’s children, such as Jared Kushner, also took part in the procession, and Melania Trump was in attendance with Barron Trump.
Tiffany Trump
Tiffany Trump, daughter of Donald Trump’s second wife, Marla Maples, attended the funeral. Donald Trump and Ivana split over the former president’s affair with Maples. Maple was not present.
Donald and Melania Trump
Donald and Melania Trump led the congregation as they walked out of the church, but neither spoke during the service.
In 2017, while promoting her memoir “Raising Trump,” Ivana Trump made a claim that initially met opposition from Melania Trump.
“I’m actually Trump’s first wife, okay? I’m the first lady, okay?” Ivana Trump said in an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America.
The comment infuriated Melania’s camp, who said the comments were “cautious and selfish noise.”
Fashion designer Dennis Basso
Designer Dennis Basso also attended the service. He and Ivana Trump were longtime friends and collaborators. Ivana was a frequent customer of Basso’s furs, though often with friends and family discounts, according to The New York Times.
“We couldn’t have made the shoulders bigger or fuller,” Mr Basso told The Times of the ensembles his design team had created with her. “She always wanted to show off her waist. She’d call and say, ‘I love that. Can I have it in purple?’ “I love that. Can I have that in green?” One year around Christmas, she called and said, “I’m in Aspen. I want a red shaved mink ski suit.” Since I wasn’t a great skier, I said, ‘But if you fall, it gets wet.'”
“She said, ‘Dahling. I’m not falling,'” Basso joked.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner were in attendance, and Ivanka gave a eulogy during the procession.
Though she was in tears, the former first daughter brought a smile to the service recalling her mother berating her for wearing a mini skirt that was “not mini enough.”
“Show it off while you have it,” she remembered Ivana told her.
Heavy presence of the secret service
At the funeral, and as loved ones left the church, there was a large presence of Secret Service agents attending the funeral, near the former president’s family.
Charles Kushner
Charles Kushner, Jared Kushner’s father, was among those in attendance. The former real estate mogul was pardoned by former President Donald Trump in December 2020 after being convicted of tax crimes.
Kimberly Guilfoyle
Former Fox News host and Trump adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle came to the event with her fiancé, Donald Trump Jr.
Former gossip columnist and Ivana’s friend of 40 years Couri Hay
Former gossip columnist and longtime friend of Ivana R. Couri Hay attended the service and spoke to Insider.
“Ivana would like a big, glamorous celebration of her life,” long-time friend Hay said during the service. “Today she is exactly where she belongs. In the spotlight and in heaven.”
The church was filled with a thousand of Ivana’s favorite red roses and was “drenched in tears” during the two-hour mass, Hay told Insider.
