A new And Digital alternative to the traditional social security card will be available at the early summer, the Social Security Administration announced on Friday.
The agency will introduce a function with which all my social security account holders, either applicant or beneficiary, the possibility to open and view their Sofin number online.
The relocation comes weeks after the Social Security Administration plans had fallen to reduce over-the telephone services and indicates which account holders had to verify their identity personally.

The agency encourages all account holders to “benefit” from the new function, which will be available at the beginning of this summer.
To gain access to or see your social security number on your mobile device, you must create a “my social security account”.
“This digital function not only streamlines the process for those who need their SSN, but also reinforces our dedication to protecting sensitive information,” said the Social Security Administration. “By offering a safe digital option, SSA wants to reduce the risk of lost or stolen maps and improve the overall user experience.

What should I do if I now need a new social security card?
The digital version is not yet available, so if you have misplaced whether your social security card has stolen, it is easy to request a replacement. All you have to do is visit the website of the agency and answer a few questions regarding your specific situation.
The Social Security Administration says: “You may not have to replace your card if you know your social security number”, because in most cases a physical card is not necessary.
You can request a replacement online or by telephone on 1- (800) -772-1213 from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. local time.
After the request has been completed, the new card must arrive at your address in just a few working days by post.
