VPN company says it did not know that customers had lifelong subscriptions, she cancel

The new owners of VPN provider VPNSecure have pulled anger after canceling lifelong subscriptions. The owners told customers that they did not know about the Lifetime subscriptions when they bought VPNSecure, and they cannot honor the purchases.

In March complaints started to appear online about Lifetime subscriptions on VPNSecure that no longer works.

The first public response that Ars Technica found came on April 28, when Lifetime subscription holders reported that they received and said an e -mail from the VPN provider:

To continue to offer a safe and high-quality experience for all users, Lifetime Deal accounts are now deactivated from 28 April 2025.

A copy of the e -mail from “The VPN Secure Team” and posted on Reddit comments that VPNSecure had previously deactivated accounts with Lifetime subscriptions that it said that it was not used in “more than 6 months”. The message noted that VPNSecure was taken over in 2023, “including the technology, domain and customer database- but not the obligations.” The e -Mail continues:

Unfortunately, the previous owner did not announce that thousands of lifelong deals (LTDs) had been sold through platforms such as Stacksocial.

We only discovered this months later – when a large proportion of our sources through these LTD accounts and a high support volume of users, who were tense through part of the database, did not produce any entertaining income to help us improve and retain the service.

VPNSecure offers affected users who have discussed new subscriptions for $ 1.87 for a month (instead of $ 9.95), $ 19 for a year (instead of $ 79.92) or $ 55 for three years (instead of $ 107.64). The deals are available until 31 May, by e -mail.

This week, users reported that they received a follow-up e-mail from VPNSecure to give more details about why it made his daring and sudden move. Screenshots of the e -mail that is shared on Reddit, say that the acquisition by infinitequant LTD (another company is than infinitant Capital LTD, an infinitator Capital Rep told Ars via e -mail) “Only an asset -deal” was.

A VPNSecure representative claimed on the assessment site Trustpilot that the current owners “did not get access to the customer database after the acquisition up to months. According to the owners of VPNSecure, their acquisition yielded them:” The technology, the brand and the infrastructure/technology – but none of the previous owners. “
