Virginia is for baking enthusiasts, according to a new study. The poll of 5,000 American adults found the average person of the “old Dominion” self-reported food of at least 21 pounds, closely followed by three other heavy states: Alabama, Georgia and Maryland-All at all with the average person eating around 20 pounds per year. On average, a single American can eat at least 17 pounds of a small portion (69 ounces) fries per year. Extended to the entire nation, that means that America eats at least 5,610,000,000 pounds of the stuff – no less than 155,833 school buses. In anticipation of the National Fry Day on July 11 and commissioned by McCain Foods, the study of speaker research revealed variants for one of America's favorite food.
