United Airlines was forced to publish a raw stop for all national flights due to a technical problem with its weight and balance computer system on Wednesday evening.
“Due to a technology problem, we keep United Mainline flights on their departure ports,” United said in a statement. “We expect extra flight delays tonight if we go through this problem. Safety is our top priority and we will collaborate with our customers to bring them to their destinations.”
The airline clarified that a flight that is already in the air in the stop would not be influenced by the stop.
Hours later the airline announced that they had “solved” the technical problem.
“We work together with customers to bring them to their destinations after a technological disruption on Wednesday evening,” the airline announced via social media. “The underlying technology problem has been resolved and although we expect remaining delays, our team is working on restoring our normal activities.”
Despite the relatively fast correction, United Airlines was hit with a recoil because many passengers were left “stranded” on the asphalt.

“You have to leave people from planes soon. This is unbearable,” wrote another frustrated journeys.
A third wrote to the airline that begged for an update. “Is there an update on the national grounded flights? Thousands of your customers are now stranded and you are dead about it.”
The airline replied: “Due to a technological failure, we temporarily keep some united flights on their departure ports to manage the availability of gates at destination airports. This can cause delays throughout the evening if we work to resolve the situation. Our teams are aimed at repairing normal activities as quickly as possible, while we maintain safety safety as our highest priority.
