Donald Trump appears to still be brooding over a speech New York Governor Kathy Hochul gave at the Democratic National Convention.
The former president called her “the meanest speaker Monday night… when it comes to your favorite president, me,” in a post on Truth Social on Wednesday. He added: “Her utter hatred and statements she made about me knew no bounds.”

On the first night of the convention, Hochul spoke in her five-minute speech about growing up with the same values as Kamala Harris: “Perseverance, determination, compassion.”
“Those values have always defined the people of my state,” Hochul said. “Well, most of us anyway. Donald Trump was born a New Yorker, but he ended up a fraud, a womanizer and a criminal.”
“Trust me, America,” she continued. “If you think you’ve had enough of Donald Trump, talk to a New Yorker. We’ve been dealing with him for 78 long years: the fraud, the tax evasion, the sham university, the shady charities.”
“We've seen him rip off contractors, we've seen him rip off workers,” Hochul said. “He's abusing women, bragging about it, and then taking away their rights. And New Yorkers are fed up with it. It's no wonder he had to flee to Mar-a-Lago — sorry about that, Florida, sorry about that. Trump hasn't spent much time in New York lately. Except to be convicted of 34 crimes.”

In his message Wednesday, Trump said he was “surprised” by what Hochul said for two reasons.
“First, I have done a GREAT job in New York, hiring thousands of people, building some of the most beautiful and successful buildings, and paying billions of dollars in taxes,” he wrote.
“Number two is, if I were to win the presidential election, wouldn't it be better for the people of New York State to have a governor who gets along well with the president? Adversarial relationships are not good in politics!”
Trump also mentioned his legal problems and returned to his hobbyhorse: the persecution by the New York legal system.
“With the vitriol she displayed Monday night, it’s no wonder the judges treated me so badly,” Trump wrote. “The entire system is RIGGED, and businesses are leaving because of it!!!”
