The mayor of the city of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, said that a Russian strike had hit a kindergarten, crushed windows and damaged the facade of the building. No victims were reported.

It comes less than a day after the best diplomats of Russia and Ukraine accused each other of violating a provisional American reversed deal to pause strikes on energy infrastructure, underlining the challenges of negotiating the three-year war.

The ministers of the two countries spoke at individual events at the annual Antalya Diplacy Forum, a day after the American envoy Steve Witkoff met Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss peace prospects.

“The Ukrainians have attacked us from the very beginning, every day, perhaps with two or three exceptions,” said the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, adding that Moscow would have been featuring a list of KYIV's attacks in the past three weeks.

His Ukrainian counterpart, Andrii Sybiha, fiercely disputed that claim and said on Saturday that Russia had “almost 70 missiles, more than 2,200 (exploding) drones and more than 6,000 guided air bombs in Ukraine, usually with civilians”, since then in accordance with the limited break.
