John Ullyot, who resigned last week as Pentagon, predicted that Minister of Defense Pete Hegseeth will no longer have a job soon.
And he warned that even more “bomb” stories about Hegseeth and the Ministry of Defense are about to fall.
“It has been a month of the total number of chaos in the Pentagon,” wrote Ullyot, who has served over the years in a number of roles within the track of President Donald Trump, in an OP-ED for Politico. “From leaks from sensitive operational plans to massive dismissals, the dysfunction is now a major distraction for the president – who earns better from his senior leadership.”
After a series of reports, Hegseeth has been under fire that he repeatedly shared very sensitive information outside the official channels, especially via the Signal Messaging app.
Last month it was revealed that national security adviser Michael Waltz unintentionally added a journalist to a signal group treasure with other top officials, including Hegseeth, who shared details about military strikes in Jemen.
On Sunday, the New York Times reported that Hegseeth had a second, more personal signal chat, where he shared sensitive information with his wife, brother and others.
Allegedly, he also allowed his wife to sit at sensitive meetings with foreign officials, and he was said to be planning to inform Elon Musk about military plans when a war broke out with China, who canceled Trump when he found out.
Also in recent days, three senior leaders were forced at the Ministry of Defense in the midst of an investigation into leaks.
Ulfot called it a “strange and bewildering purification” that led to “an almost collapse in the top ranks of the Pentagon.”
“The building is in disorder under the leadership of Hegseeth,” wrote Ulfot and mentioned “total chaos” and the “month from Hell” in recent weeks. He called himself a “strong backer” of Hegseeth, but said the Pentagon is in a “completely collapse”.
“President Donald Trump has a strong report of his top officials to account,” he wrote. “Given that, it is difficult to see that Minister of Defense Pete Hegseeth stays in his role for much longer.”
And he warned that there will be more.
“There are probably more shoes in short order, with even larger bomb stories coming this week, the most important Pentagon reporters have told sources privately,” he wrote.
