The weekend’s best deals: the latest MacBook Pros, Kindle Kids, iPad Air and more.

It’s the weekend and that means another Dealmaster. In this week’s roundup of the best tech deals on the web, we’ve got Amazon’s Fire HD and Kindle tablets, some deeply discounted computer peripherals, and even Apple’s just-announced MacBook Pros have a price cut.

Amazon’s Kindle Kids e-reader is at a record low of $85 (usually $120). It’s the same device as the latest Kindle ($100), but it comes with a case, two-year warranty, and a year’s subscription to Amazon Kids+. All of that typically costs $20 more than the regular Kindle device, but this retail price now makes the Kindle Kids version cheaper.

In our review, we mention that the latest Kindle and Kindle Paperwhite are neck-and-neck as two of Amazon’s best low-end Kindles. They’re low-frills and do what they’re meant to do: help you consume books lyrically or audibly. We also note that it’s especially great for kids, even without the benefits of the kid’s version, due to its size and ability to play audiobooks. The added value of the kid’s version makes it a great buy for all ages.

This week, Apple also introduced its latest 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 Pro chips. Both have significant gains in power and efficiency over their predecessors, which were already true portable powerhouses for the heaviest users. When the pair of refreshed MacBook Pros first came out in 2021, we confidently called them “what you’ve been waiting for,” thanks to remarkable performance and a host of ports, including an updated MagSafe charger, SD card slot, Thunderbolt, and HDMI. All that came at a hefty price, though, and the latest Pros are no exception. If you’re salivating for the new one, you can get at least $50 off if you pre-order now from Amazon.

Elsewhere on the web, we’re seeing Apple’s 2022 iPad Air return to its $499 ($551) holiday prices, Razer’s 15-inch Blade gaming laptop for $300 off, and a few computer gaming peripherals with solid price drops. Check out the full curated list below.
