The weekend's best deals: buy two and get one free video game, Razer Blade, Apple, GoPro and more

    Ars Technica

It’s the weekend and that means it’s time to round up the best deals of the week. Black Friday and Cyber Monday are just two weekends away, meaning there’s a steady stream of popular electronics on sale at low prices year-round. Both Target and Amazon currently have a “buy two, get one free” deal on more than 500 video games and thousands of books. You can browse the list or easily search it using the landing page’s dedicated search bars if you’re looking for something specific. The list includes newer games such as Resident Evil 4, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, FIFA ’23, Madden ’23, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and older games such as those from the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Mario games and much more.

Among the bigger ticket deals we have a number of Apple devices, including iPads, M1- and M2-powered MacBooks, AirPods Pro (first and second generation), HomePod Mini and $200 off Apple’s 5K Studio display ($1,799 $2,000). We reviewed Apple’s 5K display back in March, noting that it was one of the few 5K monitors on the market, which largely remains true. That aside, it displays very pleasant images with great sound. It also has Apple’s A13 chip, which means it can upgrade to include new features as new macOS versions are rolled out. The sale applies to the more expensive tilt and height-adjustable version of the monitor.

Some of our favorite fitness wearables are also on sale for record lows. Garmin’s Phoenix 7 ($585 $700) is our top pick for the outdoor explorer in our upcoming guide to the best fitness trackers. We chose the Fenix 7 for its robust hardware and comparable software. Garmin uses materials such as titanium and sapphire to ensure that this watch works 100 meters underwater as well as solar energy on the highest mountains. Garmin’s plethora of proprietary training stats, preloaded topographic maps, and comprehensive activity tracking give users the most data and the most actionable analysis of any fitness wearable to date.

The Fenix series has a few that you can choose from for different needs and they are all over $100 off right now. If you’re a more casual exerciser than an outdoor expedition expert, Fitbit’s Charge ($100 $120 use code: ENG50) and Versa 4 ($150 $230 use code: NL80) represent two of the best values you can get on the wearable market, especially at these prices, a record low for the Versa. Both come with six months of Fitbit’s Premium subscription, which gives beginners useful tools (including over 200 videos) to start exercising and be more mindful.

Elsewhere on the web, we have a generous discount on GoPro’s Hero 11 camera with a free annual subscription to GoPro ($350 ($550), Xbox Series S ($250 ($290) matching its record high, iRobot vacuums and mop bundles ($639 $800), 4K TVs and much more. Check out the full curated list below.
