As ordered by a San Jose court, disgraced Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes must report to Texas jail by Thursday, April 27, to begin serving an 11-year sentence after being found guilty of three counts of wire fraud and one charge of conspiracy to commit wire fraud last summer. Her business, of course, collapsed and burned down when it was discovered that her miraculous one-drop blood tests didn’t work at all.

A hard jail term would upset most people, but Holmes appeared unfazed in new paparazzi photos published by the Daily mail On Tuesday, grinning and flanked by her fiancé, hotel heir Billy Evans, she holds her infant daughter.

Holmes gave birth to her second child with Evans just three months ago, and according to the Daily mailclaiming to have obtained the child’s birth certificate, the future Silicon Valley scion christened the baby girl Invicta, which is a feminized version of the Latin word meaning “unconquered.”

Theranos founder finally gets her guilt with 11 years in prison

“What is the opposite of remorse? Yes, that,” tweeted Bijan Salehizadeh, an investor at Highland Capital Partners who went on to invest in Theranos in 2006 when Holmes was unable to answer his questions. “Naming a child after a poem that is often quoted by political and war prisoners is valuable. The demons of denial are raging. A minimum security prison camp with Jen Shah from RH unfortunately won’t solve that.’

As the Mail is indeed no nonsense, for Holmes has given her a name own daughter after her personal defiance of her now-inevitable imprisonment is about as acute a display of narcissism as you’ll ever see.

The context of Invicta’s naming is especially chilling when you consider that prosecutors said in January that they learned that Holmes bought a one-way ticket to Mexico and that “only after the government raised this unauthorized flight with defense counsel , canceled the trip.” Yes: heavily pregnant, she would have tried to flee.

If the certificate is genuine, Holmes gave birth on Feb. 9, and the poor kid may be little more than a prop meant to make a psychopath look a little more loving. What a shame, because Invicta Holmes Evans is kind of a killer name. Hope she enjoys therapy.

And maybe one day little Invicta can find a kindred spirit in Titan Invictus, the young daughter of one of the “‘elite’ couples breeding to save humanity.”
