San Diego (AP) – The Trump government has fired 20 immigration rights without an explanation, a trade union officer said on Saturday in the midst of major movements to reduce the size of the federal government.
On Friday, 13 judges who still had to be sworn in and five assistant chef -immigration rights without notice were rejected, said Matthew Biggs, president of the International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, who represents federal employees. Two other judges were fired under comparable circumstances in the past week.
It was unclear whether they would be replaced. The Executive Office for Immigration Review of the US Department of Justice, which runs the courts and supervises its around 700 judges, did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.

Immigration courts are overdue with more than 3.7 million cases, according to the transactional records of Syracuse University Access Clearinghouse, and it takes years to decide asylum cases. There is support in the political spectrum for more judges and support staff, although the first Trump government also put pressure on some judges to decide things faster.
The Trump administration has previously replaced five top hob officials, including Mary Cheng, the acting director of the agency. Sirce Owen, the current leader and previously a judge of appealing, has issued a whole series of new instructions, a lot of reversing policy of the Biden administration.
Last month, the Ministry of Justice stopped financial support for non -governmental organizations to provide information and guidance to people who are confronted with deportation, but repaired the financing after a coalition of non -profit organizations a federal lawsuit.
The dismissals affect two Top Trump priorities: massive deportations and reduce the size of the federal government. On Thursday, the agencies ordered to dismiss almost all probation employees who had not yet received protection from civil servants, making hundreds of thousands of employees possible. Probation workers generally have less than a year at work.
Biggs, the trade union officer, said he did not know whether the relatives of the jury members were intended to send a message about the immigration policy and characterized it as part of a campaign in the federal workforce.
“They treat these people as if they are not people,” he said. “It's bad everywhere.”
