The family had already brought a lawsuit against Collins and Austin Underground, and now they will look for unlawful death damage for what they called “tragic and completely avoidable death of Jonathon Morgan”.
The Thompson Coe law firm said it represents the truck company and the director and released the following statement earlier this week:
Austin Underground and Alan Collins are sad by the unfortunate events and send their sincere condolences to all affected by the incident. The company is currently undergoing an investigation to fully understand how this incident took place. Due to the hanging lawsuits, we cannot comment further at the moment.

Morgan's parents, Mike and Linda Morgan, and his brother Ben, shared the following explanation:
βHe was just a great, great man who had committed himself to his church in his faith and service and so, so involved with his family. He was just the best son, brother and uncle you could ask for. He was a deep and loyal Christian, and we were so grateful to have him.
The lawyers of the Morgan family said in a press release that the tractor, trailer and excavator have not yet been released by the Georgetown police. They added that as the investigation continues, they “are dedicated to find justice for the Morgans and to get answers about how to prevent this tragedy.”
