Two important writers of the HBO series The last of us Go on, according to announcements on Instagram yesterday. Neil Druckmann, co-maker of the franchise, and Halley Gross, co-writer of The Last of Us Part 2 And frequent writer in the show, both leave before the work starts in season 3.
Both were credited as executive producers in the show; Druckmann has often contributed to writing to episodes, just like Gross, and Druckmann also directed. Druckmann and Gross wrote the second game together, The Last of Us Part 2.
Said Druckmann in his announcement post:
I have made the difficult decision to get away from my creative involvement in The last of us On HBO. With the work completed in season 2 and before a meaningful work starts in season 3, this is the right time for me to switch my full focus to naughty dog ββand his future projects, including writing and directing our exciting next game, Intergalactic: the heretic prophetTogether with my responsibilities as a studio head and head of creative.
Co-creating the show has been a highlight of the career. It was an honor to collaborate with Craig Mazin to produce, direct and write the last two seasons. I am deeply grateful for the thoughtful approach and dedication that the talented cast and crew have adopted to adjust The last of our part I and the continuous adjustment of The Last of Us Part II.
And Gross said:
