Amazon deepens his relationship with President Trump.
Amazon Prime Video announced on Monday that several seasons of 'The Apprentice', the reality series from 2000 that helped to increase Mr.'s profile. Trump on a national stage, would soon be available in the streaming service.
The first season of the show, which premiered in 2004, is available on Prime Video from Monday. Amazon said that a new season of “The Apprentice” would be made available every week, culminating in the seventh season of the show, which will debut the streaming service at the end of April.
Mr. Trump expressed his enthusiastic approval in a statement by Amazon.
“I look forward to looking at this show myself – such great memories, and so nice, but above all, it was a learning experience for all of us!” he said.
This is the second prominent deal that Amazon has closed with the Trump family this year. In January, Amazon announced that it would release a documentary 'behind the scenes' about Melania Trump, the First Lady. Mrs. Trump will be an executive producer of the documentary, and Amazon said at the time that it was 'enthusiastic to share this really unique story'.
Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, said at the end of last year that he was 'very optimistic' about the incoming Trump administration. Just like other technical giants and Silicon Valley companies, Amazon gave $ 1 million to Mr. Trump's inaugural fund.
Mr. Bezos is also the owner of the Washington Post, who has gone through a long -term period of Tumult, even after Mr Bezos decided not to let the newspaper endorse a candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Mr Bezos is the opinion section of the newspaper again, of which he said it would emphasize “personal freedoms and free markets.”
“The Apprentice” was a hit for NBC when it debuted in 2004, although the review of the show lost steam over time.
Mr. Trump was an executive producer of the show and as a result he would almost certainly receive a fee from the new deal with Amazon. A spokesperson for the company refused to comment on financial regulations.
In a statement, Mark Burnett, the reality show Mogul who served as an executive producer of 'The Apprentice', expressed his excitement about the new streaming deal.
“The Apprentice” is one of the best shows I have ever produced, “said Mr Burnett in a Amazon statement.
