First, the state of Texas, Kenvue and Johnson & Johnson, sued the companies, claiming they hid the risks of autism and other disorders from mothers who took Tylenol during pregnancy. Texas has alleged that both companies knowingly withheld evidence linking the active ingredient in Tylenol to autism and ADHD. Kenvue called the allegations baseless and claimed the medication is safe for pregnant women. Kenvue, a spinoff of Johnson and Johnson, has been making Tylenol since 2023. Texas claims the spin was intended to protect Johnson and Johnson from liability for the risks of Tylenol. It's worth noting that the link between autism and Tylenol use during pregnancy has not been proven.
