A Stuarts truck driver has been charged after he reportedly beat two viaducts on Interstate 81 while allegedly worn an oversized charge, according to the Virginia State Police.
The viaduct strikes took place on September 22.
At about 16.14, troopers were informed of an oversized load that hit viaducts at Mijl Markers 241.5 and 239.5. The truck took place on the southern I-81 and was later in a resting area in Augusta County.
The driver of the truck, John D. Duggins, 62, of Stuarts Draft, was accused of crime material damage, the violation of maximum vehicle height, reckless driving, a permit violation and two crime accusations of HIT-and-Run, the police said.
The crashes continue to be investigated.
