'See this more and more'

A Tesla owner who would have a fully charged electric vehicle in the morning received a rude awakening when they approached their driveway.

A redditor went to the R/ Tslalounge Subreddit to share a photo of the disturbing scene with the simple caption: “Someone cut off/ stolen my cable last night.” The photo showed the charger that was still moored in their Tesla with the cable.

"Exactly why we can't have fun things."

Electric vehicles offer various benefits, making them a great choice for a cleaner, healthier future. Perhaps the most important advantage is that EVs do not produce exhaust pollution, which means that they do not release harmful polluting gases such as carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere.

A study in the San Francisco Bay Area showed that the acceptance of electric vehicles led to a steady decrease in carbon dioxide pollution, with a reduction of 1.8% per year.

Unfortunately, the situation with which the Redditor was confronted is far too often and a growing problem in many places. For example, it was reported that Vandels had damaged around 83 chargers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, which costs the city about $ 46,000 in repairs and adding unnecessary costs and discomfort for EV drivers.

In Seattle, drivers have reported several cases of severed charging cables, making it impossible for them to charge their cars and increase the fear.

These types of incidents can be discouraging for potential owners of electric vehicles and the widespread acceptance of EVs, which are crucial in reducing our use of dirty energy sources such as gas and oil.

There is also hesitation about the concern that pollution is created during the production of EV battery and that mining for elements that are needed in the production of batteries are harmful to the environment.

However, it has been established that gas-driven cars cause considerably more pollution and the impact of mining on dirty energy substances such as coal, oil and natural gas weighs heavier against those of clean energy minerals such as lithium, cobalt and copper.

Yet that does not prevent people from pushing back against switching to electric vehicles. The post of the Redditor was confronted with reactions from commentators who were not surprised about vandalism.

“See more and more,” wrote a commentator.

“Exactly why we can't have fun things,” another said.
