A Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Crime Report for 2024 was released in August, which indicates the total amount of violent and small crime within the United States.

Security.org has published a study based on the FBI report, which in 2024 calculated the best and worst cities of the crime cities. Seattle arranged in the top five worst cities in two of the three categories provided, including total crime, violent crime and ownership crimes.

The study for total crime combined violent crimes such as murder, theft and abuse, in combination with ownership crimes such as burglary, theft and theft of motor vehicles.
