One of the two men who were murdered and were found dead in a wooded area next to a Salem Walmart Wednesday afternoon, was identified when the 41-year-old Andrew Ross Guempel, whose last known address was in Arizona, announced the Essex County District Attorney office on Saturday.
Authorities are still waiting for the name of the other man who was murdered, because his relatives have not yet been informed of his death, said the office of the public prosecutor.
The Salem police found the bodies of the two men after they had been called to 450 Highland Ave on April 23. Shortly after 2.20 pm, the office of the public prosecutor said earlier. A man who walked with his dog discovered one of the bodies and reported authorities.
The police arrested 30-year-old Jay Blodget in connection with the murders within one day after finding the bodies, said the office of the public prosecutor. He is accused of two counts of murder and did not owe the charges during his pre -guidance in the Court of Salem on Thursday.

A judge held blodget without a bail during the beforehand. Judicial archives indicate that he is homeless and lives in the forest behind the Walmart near where the bodies were found.
In the court on Thursday, prosecutors said that Guempel and the other man died of “blunt strength trauma” and were stabbed. Their bodies were hidden among dirt and other 'materials', said public prosecutors.
Blodget has also made “statements that imply with the two murders” after he had been taken in the detention of the police, officers of justice said. It is believed that he was the only person involved in the murders.
Outside the courthouse on Thursday, Blodget's lawyer, Michael Phelan, said that it was “much too early” to discuss motives or other parts of the case. The lawyer is planning to “certainly investigate whether there is a psychological issue”, although there have been no definitive answers so far, he said.
About a week before the bodies of the two men were found, Blodget was arrested and accused of breaking and coming in after he had been broken into with an iron saw in a storage container near the Walmart, according to judicial documents.
The next judicial date of Blodget is scheduled for 28 May.
