Russian armed forces weaker than they claim, say Chinese prisoners of war

Two Chinese citizens were fighting imprisoned against Ukraine that they 'were fed' lies' by Russia and that the troops of Vladimir Putin were not as strong as they claimed.

Wang Guanjung and Zhang Renbo were taken prisoner earlier this month for Russia in Oostenkraine.

Lack and wearing military fatigue in a briefing organized by Ukinform, the Ukrainian national news agency, said the couple: “All Russia has fed us, lies. They are fake. Russia is not as strong as they claim, and Ukraine is not as backwards as they say.”

President Zensky initially demanded that Beijing explained why Chinese soldiers, as he referred to them, fought for Russia.

However, the couple emphasized that they did not fought on behalf of China and had no ties with the Chinese state authorities. Instead, they were recruited as mercenaries through online advertisements, they said.

Mr. Wang said he was being recruited through a tap advertisement. He told reporters that he then traveled through coaches and minibuses to Kazan in southwestern Russia, before he went through Rostov-on-Don before he entered the Donetsk region in Eastern Ukraine, where he employed the army with Mr. Zhang.

Mr. Zhang told reporters that he was in Russia as a tourist when he saw an advertisement with the offer of two million rubles (£ 18,400) and decided to hire.

Both prisoners said they were captured in the front line immediately after arriving and had not killed Ukrainian troops.

Mr. Zensky said last week that at least 155 Chinese nationals fought for Russia in the war, a claim that Beijing has rejected as “irresponsible”.

China denies a considerable number of his citizens in the Russian armed forces and says that it advises Nationals to “participate in a party's military operations” and is an “avid supporter” of peace in Ukraine.

The only example so far from a foreign country that is using soldiers to help Russia in his war effort is North Korea. However, those troops are not allowed to fight on Ukrainian territory.

When asked about the circumstances in the Russian camps, the Chinese prisoners described a lack of water and electricity.

Mr. Wang remembered an instance when they worked until the early hours of the morning, to get “a pinch of raw rice”.

His account is consistent with reported accounts from North Korean soldiers who have complained about a lack of food in the Russian army.

Both told reporters that they expected to get punishment on their return to China, but said that this had not abolished them to go home.

“I understand that punishment is possible and I am prepared for it, because it is clear that there can be consequences for participation in war and such actions. Yet I want to return home to my family,” said Mr. Wang.

“For those Chinese countrymen who want to participate in the war against Ukraine, I just want to say … don't do a member of this war,” he added.

The Ukrainian security service said that both men had undergone the first interrogations and were held as prisoners of war in Kiev.

In the meantime, Donald Trump took a new wipe to Mr. Zensky during a meeting with reporters in the Oval Office.

On Monday, the American president claimed that his Ukrainian counterpart had 'allowed' the war with Russia to start before he questioned his competence and insisted that Putin would never have fell under his leadership.

“The mistake had the war happened. If Biden was competent, and if Zensky was competent, and I don't know he is … He just kept asking more, that war should never have happened,” he said.

'You look at Putin. I am not saying that someone is an angel. But I will tell you that I went for four years and it wasn't even a question [he would invade Ukraine]He would never. “

He wondered if he would accept an offer from Mr Zensky to buy 10 Patriot Air Defense Missile Systems made by the US for $ 15 billion (£ 11.34 billion), he replied: “When you start a war, you should know that you can win the war, right?”
