Former mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani, 81, was injured in a car accident in New Hampshire, said his spokesperson.
Giuliani's car was hit from behind on Saturday evening, according to Michael Ragusa, his spokesperson and head of security. The 81-year-old was taken to a nearby trauma center, where doctors discovered that he had a “broken thoracic vertebrae, and several cuts and bruises, Ragusa said. He was also injured on his left arm and lower leg.
Shortly before the crash, the spokesperson said that Giuliani had helped a woman who was injured in an incident with domestic violence.
“Prior to the incident, he was marked by a woman who was the victim of an incident with domestic violence. Mayor Giuliani immediately made help and contacted 911,” said Ragusa. “He stayed on scene until the responding officers arrived to guarantee her safety.”
“After this, while traveling on the highway, the vehicle of Mayor Giuliani was beaten at high speed from behind,” he added. “He was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was diagnosed with a broken thoracic vertebrae, several cracks and bruises, as well as injuries on his left arm and lower leg.”
