During former President Donald Trump’s New Year’s Eve celebration at Mar-a-Lago, Trump complained about it Southwest is canceling its flightsa media conference that no major news outlets — including Fox or NewsMax — covered, and a video of Rudy Giuliani ringing in the New Year — though no one can hear him.
In a video posted to Twitter with the caption “Mar-a-Lago 2023 New Years Heading to 2024!” You can hear Giuliani say “Here we are at Mar-a-Lago…” before a live band starts performing a cover of Kenny Loggins’ “Footloose” so loud that nothing Giuliani says is audible in the distance.
Giuliani didn’t seem to notice and posted the video as people danced around him and bombarded the camera.
Recently, Giuliani’s name came to the fore after a report from the House Committee investigating the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot revealed that the Trump attorney attempted to leave a voicemail for GOP Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama ahead of the certification from President Joe Biden, but instead left it for GOP Senator Mike Lee.
In the voice message, Giuliani urged Tuberville to delay the certification process. Lee, hearing the message, later texted National Security Adviser Robert O’Brien that Giuliani was a “walking malpractice.”
At a media conference prior to the party, Trump avoided questions about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis researching COVID-19 vaccines and questions about whether or not he supports a national abortion ban.
When asked what he hoped for in 2023, he replied “world peace” before ranting about the war in Ukraine and “strong borders”.
The press conference lasted a few minutes before Trump and his wife, Melania, walked out.
Representatives for Trump and Giuliani did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
