Republican group burns Trump supporters in mock PSA to air on Fox News

A Republican group has an ad on Fox News calling on members of the GOP who recognize Donald Trump’s danger but plan to vote for him if he is the party’s candidate in 2024.

The Republican Accountability Project spot is intended to resemble the old ASPCA ads featuring singer Sarah McLachlan. Except instead of a plea to help animals escape violent environments, here’s a fake PSA for Republicans suffering from “Partisan Derangement Syndrome” who are “too far gone” to be rescued:

The ad will run nationwide next week on “Fox & Friends,” reportedly one of Trump’s favorite shows.

“This ad shows how ridiculously far these Republicans will try to stay in Trump’s favor,” Sarah Longwell, the organization’s executive director, said in a press release. “They know Trump’s lies about the 2020 election and actions on January 6 were wrong, but they lack the courage to take a stand and say they will not support him.”

The Republican Accountability Project, a group of “never Trump” conservatives, is calling on members of the GOP who empowered the former president, especially during and after the January 6 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters. was carried out. The group has placed ads against House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.), Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) and others, and has vowed to support candidates challenging Trump’s primary drivers.
