Prison guard who had sex with inmate on video pleads guilty

A Brazilian OnlyFans star who was filmed having sex with a prisoner in a cell tried to flee the UK before she was arrested at Heathrow Airport, a court has heard.

Linda De Sousa Abreu, a 30-year-old prison officer, faces jail after the clip from HMP Wandsworth was shared on social media.

The footage shows Ms De Sousa Abreu – who appeared on a Channel 4 swingers show – with convicted burglar Linton Weirich, 36, as her discarded radio crackles with messages from colleagues.

Ms De Sousa Abreu, from Fulham, south-west London, admitted misconduct in public office when she appeared at Isleworth Crown Court.

Her complaint states that her conduct “constituted an abuse of public trust in the office holder by performing sexual acts with an inmate in a prison cell.”

Wearing a white jacket and black top, she showed no emotion after confessing to the charges.

Eloise Marshall KC, prosecuting, told the court that a police interview recorded in the video with the prisoner “contains information which will be the subject of further investigation”.

Judge Martin Edmunds KC granted Ms De Sousa Abreu bail on 7 November ahead of sentencing. He also ordered a pre-sentence report.

Ms De Sousa Abreu’s Portuguese passport must remain in the possession of police, she cannot apply for international travel documents and is banned from entering UK ports of entry. She is also subject to an electronically monitored curfew between 7pm and 9am every day.

Gayathri Yogarajah, her lawyer, previously described her as a “young mother” and “a person of good character”.

As she fled to Heathrow Airport, the officer had called the prison to say she would not be returning to work and that her husband would be returning her equipment.

    'Breach of public trust'

Tetteh Turkson, the senior Crown Prosecutor, said: “This was a shocking breach of public trust. De Sousa was clearly an enthusiastic participant who wrongly believed she would avoid responsibility.

“The CPS recognises that there is no excuse for a prison officer to behave in such a way and we will never hesitate to prosecute those who abuse their position of power.

“After working closely with the Metropolitan Police to build the strongest possible case, De Sousa had no choice but to accept her guilt. She will now rightly face the consequences of her actions.”

A Prison Service spokesman said: “Staff corruption will not be tolerated and the former prison officer allegedly featured in this video has been reported to police.”
