Well, the kids are sure to enjoy themselves, even if Prince William looks a little scared that little Louis is about to pull his ears.
But then Father’s Day just wouldn’t be the same without the kids enjoying themselves at Dad’s expense.
In this captivating photo released by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to mark the occasion, the Duke is seen with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis while on holiday in Jordan.
The photo was taken in the fall of 2021 when the family was on a trip organized by the Duchess to visit her former childhood home.
A similar image of the holiday, but featuring the Duchess, was used as the family’s Christmas card last year. It showed the Duke in shorts, sitting on a round gold ottoman, with Prince George and Princess Charlotte on a traditional Jordanian camel stool and Prince Louis on a sheepskin.
The Duchess lived in Jordan for three years as a child, when her father Michael worked for British Airways in Amman.
In 2018, her husband paid an official visit to the country, stopping at the archaeological wonder of Jerash, where young Kate Middleton once posed for a photo with her sister Pippa.
The Duke said at the time that his wife was “very sorry” that she couldn’t join him on the tour, adding: “Her family fondly remember the nearly three years she spent here as a child.”
The country is considered a vital ally of Britain in the Middle East, contributing to stability in the region and hosting a large number of refugees from surrounding countries. Cambridge’s visit was seen as an acknowledgment of that relationship.
The pair have previously released more formal photos taken by professional photographers, or taken by the Duchess herself in the countryside of their home in Anmer, near Norfolk.
But this one — though not made by Catherine, according to palace sources — could be straight out of a typical family album.
You can almost hear “everyone’s making daddy laugh” yelled out by someone off-camera.
