    N.Korea’s Kim expresses condolences to China’s Xi over plane crash

    SEOUL (Reuters) – North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sent a letter to Chinese President Xi Jinping to express his condolences over the recent crash of a Chinese plane, state media KCNA said Tuesday. A search was underway around heavily forested slopes for victims and flight recorders of a China Eastern Airlines jet after it crashed into the mountains of southern Guangxi on Monday with 132 people on board. In a message sent Monday, Kim expressed “deep condolences and condolences” to Xi, the victims and their families, the official KCNA news agency said.
