The Philippines rejected China's claim on a group of three sandbanks in the South Chinese Sea on Monday, after recent displays of both sides of their national flags over the uninhabited outings. The back and forth over Sandy Cay is the newest flare-up in a long-term dispute about territory in the brightly disputed South China Sea, which almost claims China in its entirety.
