PGA golfer Jordan Spieth says it’s “impossible” not to think the Saudi-backed LIV series has led to changes in the Professional Golfers’ Association of America tour.
Here’s what Speith said ahead of this week’s Tour Championship at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club: “Well, I think it’s certain, it’s impossible not to think that was a catalyst, to keep making sure that those players that we have on the PGA tour will now stay on the PGA tour.”
He also wondered, “Could this have gone that way so quickly?” and went on to answer his hypophoric question, “Maybe not. But I have to say in general it wouldn’t happen, I’m not sure, but I think that’s definitely been a catalyst to look at the product as a whole and figure out how to make it the best it can be .”
