OpenAi relationship with Microsoft can become acid: WSJ

Story: The close relationship of OpenAi with Microsoft can become acidic.

The Wall Street Journal says that the chatgpt maker has considered accusing the tech -titan of anti -competitive behavior.

It says that the move could entail a federal assessment of the ties between the two, and a public campaign on this issue.

OpenAi needs Microsoft's blessing to complete its transition to a public-benefit company.

But months of conversations between the couple have not succeeded in bringing agreement.

One of the bottlenecks would be the future importance that Microsoft would have.

Tech publication The information says that OpenAI wants the Windows Maker to get a 33% share in a restructured unit, in exchange for deporting rights to future profit.

It is said that it also wants to change clauses that give Microsoft exclusive rights to host OpenAI models in its cloud.

The information says that neither issues have been resolved.

Microsoft invested a first $ 1 billion in OpenAI in 2019.

But the chatbotmaker has since been looking for ways to reduce its dependence on the technical heavyweight.

Earlier this month, Reuters reported that Sam Altman's company intends to use Alphabet cloud services to increase the computing power.
