“I can't stay up this late, we all have lives and children. Godspeed to our 81-year-old president giving his speech at this hour,” the former “View” star said.
Months after he admitted to sacrificing a few hours of suffering for Bradley Cooper's Masterformer Display Co-host and conservative political commentator Meghan McCain once again opened up about her struggle with sleep deprivation as she tried to get through the broadcast before President Joe Biden spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Monday night.
“I'm quitting — I can't stay up this late, we all have lives and kids. Godspeed to our 81-year-old president giving his speech at this hour,” McCain, 39, shared on X at exactly 11 p.m., ahead of Biden's appearance on stage at the DNC in Chicago. Biden's appearance came weeks after he announced he would not seek re-election in the 2024 presidential election, following repeated calls (including from McCain's previous Display colleagues) that he withdrew out of concern about his age.
McCain continued: “The producers who did this to him and let it go on for so long to this point are an asshole and it's disrespectful to Biden.”
About 13 minutes earlier, at 10:47 p.m., the Meghan McCain War Room sounded the alarm when the controversial figure realized that Biden had not yet shown up for the first night of the convention.
“Are they really going to hang President Biden at midnight?!?” asked the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, though one user responded to remind her of time zones. “It's only 9:30 in Chicago, didn't you say you were going to bed?” the user replied.
McCain previously complained that the time she was spending on the DNC was taking away from her time with her children.
I give up – I can't stay up this late, we all have lives and children. Godspeed to our 81 year old president finishing the speech at this hour.

“This convention is SO LATE. Guys, I'm old and I have toddlers! Who wants to stay up this late?!” McCain wrote.
By 9:07 p.m., McCain was already fed up with the convention and began criticizing the list of speakers who had already spoken on the broadcast.
“How did these people even get elected to office?!? There is no charisma at all with these speakers,” McCain said.
In a moment of cheerful clarity, McCain praised Vice President Kamala Harris (whom she called “stylish and beautiful,” months after saying Harris is proof that “a woman can't be vice president”) and, reportedly, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton — both of whom were also in attendance at Monday night's event.

“Hilary gave a very classy and moving speech tonight,” McCain said on X, though she notably omitted the extra “l” in Clinton’s first name, leaving it ambiguous as to whether she was still watching the DNC or her boredom was causing her to switch her interest to Disney+ to stream famed one-l icon Hilary Duff. Lizzie McGuire.
If she decides to watch the second night of the DNC, McCain is in for a sensation, as it was revealed earlier this week that her former Display Co-host Ana Navarro, a registered Republican, will host the evening.
