A man is dead and two women are injured, one seriously, after two vehicles collided in Markham Monday evening, York Regional Police say.
Police said the collision occurred on Highway 7, east of Reesor Road. Officers were called to the area just after 7:45 p.m. One vehicle was traveling east while the other was traveling west when they collided, police added.
The man, aged in his 60s and the driver of a vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, a woman in her 60s, is in a life-threatening condition. She was flown to a hospital in Toronto.
The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 40s, was taken to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 7, east of Reesor Road, is closed in both directions as police investigate.
