Washington (Reuters) -S -Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Said on Wednesday that he would move the supervision of American autism rates to the newly established administration for a healthy America.
The prevalence of autism spectrum disorder in the US for 8-year-olds in 2022 was 32.2 per 1,000, or 1 in every 31, against 1 in 36 in 2020 and 1 in 2018, according to data published in the US CENTERS for Disease Control and Prevention's Weekly Report on Tuesday.
During Kennedy's first national press conference since he became a health secretary, he said that study had been published two years late. “One of the things we are going to do is that we are moving this position to the administration for a healthy American,” he said.
