In-n-out citizen is charged for $ 3.2 million

In-n-out Burger is apparently full of guests who want a hamburger with fresh fries in a very limited (albeit popular) menu.

From March 2025 in-n-out has 418 locations in the United States. Most are in California and the west coast, but the company also started with Texas.

Unfortunately in-n-out is charged for no less than $ 3.2 million by a former employee, and the reason is because of his hairstyle, by Annie Goodykoonontz of the Los Angeles Times.

“In-n-out citizen is charged by a former employee for at least $ 3 million for alleged racial discrimination in which the employee's hairstyle is involved, according to an archiving of Los Angeles County Superior Court,” the report said.

“According to the suit, the 21-year-old Elia Obeng, who is black, said that he had experienced serious emotional need after he was unfairly focused on the clothing regulations of the hamburger chain. The clothing regulations requires his employees to carry hats issued by company hidden, and male employees must be clean, the court case says.”

Obeng worked in the Compton In-N-out-Winkel for almost four years and the report stated that the company took an exception to its hairstyle and his sideburns, senting home even in May 2024 to shave his Bakkeburns.

Based on the Obeng lawsuit, creating a respectful and open workplace for natural hair (Crown Act) is what the company is in conflict with, which prohibits employers from discriminating employees based on their hairstyles and hair textures. The experience of the former employee caused him 'fear, humiliation and loss of dignity', according to the court case.

Moreover, in-n-out responded and said it was due to earlier descriptions, but Obeng believes that it was a discriminatory act that resulted in his resistance to the dress code policy.

From a financial aspect, a lawsuit of $ 3.2 million is a small number compared to the $ 2 billion a year that the company brings in, but to deal with this, negative attention will probably draw attention to the well -known Hamburger Joint.
