Ice breakers are used to free a Canadian cargo ship from Lake Erie

On Friday morning, January 24, there were ice breakers to free the cargo ship Manitoulin from the ice cream of Lake Erie near Buffalo, New York.

According to local news items, the Canadian cargo ship, with seventeen people on board, got stuck in the ice on Lake Erie after it had left Buffalo on Wednesday.

The American Coast Guard (USCG) started on Thursday with attempts to free the ship and confirmed that the ship was not damaged and that the crew on board was safe, according to the local WKBW.
