Huge Great White Shark Crashes Into Whale Watching Boat In Pismo Beach Watch Video

This weekend, a great white shark made an unexpected and breathtaking visit to whale watchers in San Luis Obispo County.

On Saturday, boat rental company SLO Tours shared a video of a great white shark hitting its head on a boat at Pismo Beach, giving visitors an unexpected visitor.

“Fun day of whale watching and then this guy shows up!” the message read.

The video shows the shark approaching the small boat and someone on board saying, “Oh my god, it's huge!”

Then the shark surfaces, raises its head above water and hits the side of the boat as the people on board retreat.

Someone commented on the post, calling the encounter “the shark equivalent of a fist bump,” along with a fist bump emoji.

Another said: “The shark is just like oh hey guys I'm here for your tour. Them: Aaaaahhhhh!”

Shark sightings are common in San Luis Obispo County, but shark attacks are rare.

The last recorded great white shark attack in San Luis Obispo County occurred in 2021, near Morro Rock.

Before that, there had only been two fatal shark attacks recorded in San Luis Obispo County in modern history: one in 1957 in Morro Bay and another in 2003 in Avila Beach.
