House closed due to drug and violence problems

A house has been closed due to complaints of violence, drug use and damage.

On Monday, a court ordered Cumbria Police to close the premises in Castlegate, Penrith.

This means that anyone in the property, except the police, landlord or tenant, can be arrested.

Sgt Martyn Irving said officers will work with other groups and individuals to ensure the three-monthly measure is complied with.
