Generative AI has taken its way into countless products and services, some of which benefit from these tools than others. Coding with AI has proved to be a better application than most, where individual developers and large companies lean heavily on generative tools to make programs and error detection. Now Indie developers have free access to a new AI coding tool -Google has announced that Gemini Code Assist is available to everyone.
Gemini Code Assist was first released at the end of last year as an industrial tool, and the new version almost all has the same functions. Although you can use the standard Gemini or another AI model such as chatgpt to work on coding questions, Gemini Code Assist is designed to fully integrate with the tools that developers are already using. So you can tap the power of a large language model (LLM) without jumping between windows. With Gemini Code Assist connected to your development environment, the model remains informed of your code and ready to dive into suggestions. The model can also take on specific challenges according to your requests, and you can chat with the model over your code, provided that it is a public domaintal.
During the launch, Gemini Code Prices start at $ 45 per month per user. Now it costs nothing for individual developers, and the boundaries to the free low are generous. Google says that the product offers 180,000 code -volaties per month, which claims it is sufficient that even productive professional developers are not used up. This is in stark contrast to Microsoft's Github Copilot, which offers similar functions with a limit of only 2,000 code -voltions and 50 Copilot chat messages per month. Google did mathematics to point out Gemini Code Assist offers 90 times the completion of Copilot.
