Friends shocked when woman is accused of shooting hubby over Christmas

    Friends of a New Jersey couple are reeling after the woman was accused of shooting her husband on Christmas night.

    Marylue Wigglesworth, 51, has been arrested for allegedly shooting her 57-year-old husband David Wigglesworth at their home in Atlantic City on Sunday, according to Atlantic County prosecutors.

    The couple’s social media pages were filled with upbeat photos of their seemingly blissful life together, with holiday snaps and footage from various events.

    “I can’t believe this,” a friend wrote on Facebook. “We’ve known Dave and Mary for years. This just can’t be true.”

    David Wigglseworth, whom family and friends referred to as “Wiggy,” was a former Republican candidate for his local council, as well as a volunteer for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Atlantic City.

    Police have not said what they believe may be the motive in the alleged murder, and they are actively asking people to call with more information that could help shed light on the mysterious case, which they are calling an “active and cooperative investigation.” . ”

    Friends of the couple, meanwhile, have expressed their shock and confusion.

    “This is just unbelievable to me. Such wonderful people,” a friend wrote on Facebook.

    Another noted that the couple’s online posts never showed any sign of trouble: “According to his profile, it looks like they had the best life together.”
