    A man in Florida who controls a special truck that was designed to safely absorb the impact of crashes was killed after a car was plowed into the vehicle.

    The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning at the Southbound I-75 in Broward County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

    The Scorpion -Crash Truck – a specially designed vehicle with a twist zone to protect highway workers – followed another truck that slowly moved and lines on the road and shoulder.

    Around 1.30 am a pick-up truck that dragged a boat behind the workers, but failed to slow down and collapsed in the Scorpion truck.

    The collision, however, pushed the Scorpion truck in the vehicle before and the driver, a 64-year-old man from Miami, was seriously injured.

    The man, who has not been identified, was flown to a nearby hospital, but later died of his injuries, the FHP said. The two men in the lines of the truck painting were not injured.

    According to the FHP, the three men in the pick-up were also injured in the incident.

    The driver, a 42-year-old man and the 50-year-old male passenger, both suffered minor injuries. The third man, from Fort Lauderdale, had serious injuries.
