Florida man holds pee long enough to break world record watching ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’

A man from Florida is arguably Marvel’s biggest fan.

Ramiro Alanis just regained a Guinness World Record after resisting bathroom breaks long enough to watch “Spider-Man: No Way Home” 292 times.

He previously broke the record for “most theatrical productions attended of the same film” in 2019, after seeing “Avengers: Endgame” 191 times. However, in 2021, Arnaud Klein has undone Alanis’ feat by watching “Kaamelott: First Installment” 204 times, according to a press release of Guinness World Records.

It was not easy to win back the title.

The terms of the record stated that the “movie should be viewed independently of any other activity,” which meant that Alanis had to hold up his pee because he was not allowed to take a break in the toilet, take a quick nap or even check his phone while he was watching the movie. movie.

When Alanis first set the record in 2019, 11 of his sessions were disqualified due to the bathroom breaks he took.

The determined Florida man had to watch “No Way Home” 720 hours (30 days) between December 16, 2021 and March 15, 2022 to secure the crown.

To achieve this, Alanis did five back-to-back screenings every day for the first few weeks of his record attempt. Most impressively, he completed the record while balancing family and work commitments.

The long nighttime viewings of the film left Alanis with a headache, which the Marvel fan said was the most challenging part of the record attempt.

Landing the record wasn’t cheap either. Alanis estimates that in the three months it took to set the record, he spent a total of about $3,400 on movie tickets.

According to Guinness, he attributes his dedication to earning the credit to his late grandmother Juany. “She was my number 1 supporter and I want to remain the record holder,” he said in the press release.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home” was released in theaters on December 17, 2021 and became the third biggest movie ever at the box office after recording the huge hit ‘Avatar’.

Before Alanis first broke the record, it was in the hands of Joanne Connor from Australia, who watched “Bohemian Rhapsody” 108 times in early 2019.

For anyone thinking about catching up with Alanis’ record, he wants you to “think twice before you try,” he said.
