The 12-hour timelapse shows that air traffic from United Airlines, Delta Airlines and American Airlines, among others, was delayed during the outage, which also affected banks and the media.
Airports and airlines around the world warned of delays and cancellations or switched to manual check-in, and in some cases even halted flights.
Airline services in healthcare, shipping and finance came back online later on Friday. However, delays and cancellations were expected to continue throughout the day as airlines try to fully recover from the disruption that has disrupted their flight schedules and affected thousands of passengers.
