With BLACKPINK’s contract with YG Entertainment set to expire in August, the question of whether the group members will renew their contract with the talent agency has been the subject of much debate on social media.

While YG Entertainment has stated that it intends to renew the group’s contract, reports have surfaced that this would not be easy as the members are offered much higher wages from other labels.

An earlier rumor circulated that while the members remain as a group, they intend to follow in the footsteps of BIGBANG member Taeyang, who is a contract with agency The Black Label. At the time of writing, none of the parties involved have confirmed any of the reports.

Recent reports that Lisa has been offered 100 billion KRW (about $81 million) by a foreign company to switch labels have fueled concerns that BLACKPINK will soon be disbanded.

BLINKS, the official fandom of the popular girl group, remains positive that the members would stay together and have expressed his support in particular for the members if they decide to move to another office.

“I think they would renew, but I wish they went to better companies,” said one fan.

“I wish they could extend because I want to see BLACKPINK together for a long time,” wrote another.

Meanwhile, “Lisa Leave YG” became a trending topic on social media after some of Lisa’s fans urged her to leave YG Entertainment.

The messages allegedly come from Lisa fans who believe the company has assaulted the member several times in the past.
