An upset Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) made an impassioned plea to Fox News viewers on Thursday that indicted former President Donald Trump needs their money, and he needs it now.
Speaking to Sean Hannity on a night when commentary on Fox News has turned almost apocalyptic due to the indictment by a Manhattan grand jury, Graham, historically one of Trump’s most talkative Senate defense attorneys, gave another performance that was sure to is to keep him in Trump’s favor.
Graham stated that the motivating factor in the charges is “hate” and argued that Democrats “fear Trump at the polls.”
They’re trying to suck him dry. He spent more money on lawyers than most people on campaigns,” Graham said. In addition to being indicted in New York, Trump faces a criminal investigation in Georgia into his efforts to overturn the 2020 election and a criminal investigation by the Justice Department into his alleged mishandling of classified documents since his has left office. Trump’s alleged rape of journalist E. Jean Carroll in the 1990s is also the subject of a trial that will begin in April.
Graham, with a blurry look, would direct viewers to the presidential candidate’s website three times in the next two minutes.
‘Go tonight. Give the president some money to fight this nonsense! he begged.
“For those listening tonight, if you think Trump is being treated badly and wrongly, stand up and help the man,” Graham later added, before recommending that their prayers be welcomed as well.
“Thanks,” a grateful Hannity said as his studio audience applauded.
At one point during the interview, a heckler in the audience could be heard yelling, “This is a beautiful day. You lie by omission and you lie. The studio sound cut off before the woman could continue.
