Elon Musk's X arranges Trump -Rechtszaak

    X agreed to pay $ 10 million in the reach of President Trump's lawsuit on the suspension of his account 2021 on the social media platform, according to a person informed about this.

    The company, then known as Twitter, removed Mr Trump from his platform after the Riot on the American Capitol on January 6, 2021, referring to his inflammatory posts and claimed that they could lead to more violence. Mr. Trump complained and claimed that Twitter and other technology companies that removed his accounts had wrongly censored him.

    Elon Musk, now the owner of X and a close adviser to the president, recovered Mr Trump's account shortly after the company acquires in 2022. Mr. Musk has thrown his support behind Mr Trump, donates more than $ 250 million to his campaign, and is now a cost -saving initiative of the government called the Department of Government Efficiency.

    The settlement also confirms the relationship between Mr. Musk and Mr. Trump. Details of the agreement were not made public at the court applications, but X and Mr Trump reported the ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on Friday that they had agreed to reject the lawsuit. Both parties agreed to pay their own costs, according to a court application.

    The settlement amount was previously reported by the Wall Street Journal. A spokesperson for X did not respond to a request for comments. It was not immediately clear which entity would receive the money.

    Mr. Trump has sued Twitter, Facebook and Google, the parent company of YouTube, after the platforms have suspended his accounts in the aftermath of the attack on the Capitool. After the riot, Mr. Trump used his Twitter account to praise its supporters and to call them 'patriots'.

    Mr. Trump also placed that he the inauguration of Joseph R. Biden Jr. would not attend, the Twitter safety teams said that his supporters could have indicated at the time to organize a new attack at that event. Twitter said it has suspended Mr. Trump's account “because of the risk of further incentive of violence.”

    Meta, Facebook's parent company, Instagram and WhatsApp, arranged his lawsuit last month and agree to pay the president $ 25 million. Mark Zuckerberg, Chief Executive of Meta, has also praised Mr Trump in recent months, donating to his inauguration fund and the sweeping in Meta's policy to make more types of speech in the apps of the company possible.

    In December ABC News agreed to pay $ 15 million to arrange a defamation from Mr Trump. ABC News said it would donate the money to the future presidential foundation and Mr Trump's museum.

    Meta agreed to comparable conditions in his regulation with Mr Trump. About $ 22 million will finance the presidential library of Mr Trump, with the remaining $ 3 million reserved for the legal fees of Mr Trump and other claimants who have joined the lawsuit.
